Help make the show happen.
OurFest is a Denver events co-op. Fans vote, members choose who plays, then we put the show on together. We book all kinds of shows. We need bands, solo artists, rappers, DJs and producers, makers (silk performers, hoops, dance, live painting, visuals, photos), people who can lend gear, promoters, volunteers, and venues. Pick what you do below and tell us your rate.
From ten seconds to the whole show.
Fans vote. Members pick.
1. People vote first
Fans, makers, and members vote for acts at ourfest.co/vote. Voting is free and tells us they plan to come.
2. Members choose who plays
Our first show is Thursday, January 21, at a venue downtown. 20 votes puts an act on the members' shortlist, and members vote on who plays. A public vote is not a guarantee.
3. Members see the books
After the show, members see every dollar in and out.
You set your rate. We sign a contract.
Bands, artists and DJs
We invite artists who fit the show's sound. Anyone can vote, and anyone can add an act to the vote. Voting is free. 20 votes puts you on the members' shortlist, and members choose who plays. A public vote is not a guarantee, and votes do not set pay.
You tell us your rate per hour, how long you play, and how many people you can get to buy tickets. We sign a contract before the show. Ticket money pays 5 percent to the co-op's land fund, then the show's costs, then makers' and promoters' fees. What is left is the musicians' pot. Every musician gets their rate first.
If the show sells more than the acts' rates, the extra goes to the musicians who brought people, split by the ticket money each one's link and Sponsor Tickets brought in. If it sells less, everyone gets the same percent of their rate. Members see the books after every show. See an example show.
We book acts when members have chosen them and the tickets their musicians say they can sell cover what the show costs. Then everyone signs a contract. You play on the house sound and keep your merch.
Makers
Makers and performers get a flat fee for the show, agreed in writing before we announce. They get an increased percentage if we pass minimum paid tickets. Your name on the flyer, a tag in our posts, and the photos from the show.
Lenders and crew
Lend fog, lights, a projector or a DJ table and you get your name on the flyer, a tag in our posts, and a written borrow and return note. Tell us if a borrow costs anything. Promoters get $2 for every paid ticket bought through their link, up to 10 percent of ticket money. Volunteers get in free and a named job on the show.

Your rate first. The extra goes to who brought people.
- You set your rate. Your rate per hour, how long you play, and how many people you can get to buy tickets. It goes in a contract before the show.
- Ticket money pays the show in order: 5 percent to the co-op land fund, the show's costs, then makers' and promoters' fees. What is left is the musicians' pot.
- Every musician gets their rate first.
- Bring people, earn more. You get your own ticket link. Anything left after every rate is split by the ticket money each musician's link brought in. Sponsor Tickets that name you count too.
- A short show is shared. If the pot does not cover every rate, everyone gets the same percent of their rate.
- Votes decide who plays, not what you earn. Members see the books after every show.
An example show
Made up numbers to show the math. Not a promise of any amount.
| 150 tickets online at $15 | $2,250 |
| 100 tickets at the door at $20 | $2,000 |
| Sponsor Tickets | $150 |
| 5 percent to the co-op land fund | −$220 |
| The show's costs: sound, insurance, card fees | −$760 |
| Makers' and promoters' fees | −$600 |
| Musicians' pot | $2,820 |
Three acts. Their rates add up to $600, so everyone gets their rate and $2,220 is left. That $2,220 splits by the ticket money each act's link brought in, $1,800 in all.
| Act | Rate | Brought in | Share of the extra | Paid |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Act A | $150 | $900 (60 tickets) | $1,110 | $1,260 |
| Act B | $200 | $600 (40 tickets) | $740 | $940 |
| Act C | $250 | $300 (20 tickets) | $370 | $620 |
A short show: if the pot were $480, it covers 80 percent of the $600 in rates. Everyone gets 80 percent of their rate: $120, $160, $200.
